The honest teardown

Cut a cabinet in half. That's where the price difference went.

We don't sell flat-pack — so we'll just show you the difference. Every line we carry is a solid all-plywood box. Here's what that means, side by side, with nothing dressed up.

A semi-custom Naples kitchen scribed and fit in place by the ProFloorz crew
Naples · install dayScribed in place, not pre-cut to a drawing

Naples walls are never square. We fit to the real wall, not a drawing.

Anyone can set a box to a level line. The difference is what happens where the box meets a house that has settled, shifted, and been patched by three owners. Our own crew scribes every cabinet on-site — three places, by hand.

  1. 01 · WALL
Where the box meets the wall

Settled tile, a sub-floor patch, a beam that bowed across a hot summer — almost no Naples wall is plumb. We scribe the stile to the wall's real face, so the seam closes tight.

  2. 02 · FLOOR
Where the base meets the floor

Tile lippage and slab dip mean a level cabinet leaves a wedge of light at the toe-kick. We shim and scribe the base to the floor as it really is — no gap, no rocking.

  3. 03 · SOFFIT
Where the upper meets the ceiling

Ceilings wander a half-inch across a long run. We scribe the crown and filler to the soffit line so the top reads as one clean shadow, wall to wall.

One Naples crew, start to finish — no day-of subcontractor, no box left rocking on a floor that isn't flat.

A bright custom Old Naples kitchen ProFloorz built — white cabinetry with quartz counters, running wall to wall
Built & installed in Naples

An all-plywood kitchen, fit wall to wall.

First Avenue, Old Naples · a fully custom kitchen and pantry, scribed in place by our own crew.

The door and the top are chosen in the same review.

A cabinet finish picked one week and a countertop picked blind the next is how a kitchen ends up almost right. We pull the door chip and the Cambria slab side by side in the showroom, in your morning light, so the palette reads as one piece before a single thing is ordered.

  1. 01Painted insetFabuwood · hand-rubbed

Paired with — A soft white quartz with a quiet, low-movement grain.

A painted shaker or inset kitchen wants a calm top — a near-white quartz that lets the door line and the hardware do the talking.

  2. 02American walnutOmega · full overlay

Paired with — A warm cream quartz with subtle taupe veining.

Walnut runs dark and warm, so the top steps lighter — a creamy quartz with restrained veining keeps the room from going heavy.

  3. 03Quartered oakEuropa · natural oil

Paired with — A greige quartz with a fine, marble-look movement.

Natural-oil oak reads golden, so we pull a greige top with cooler movement — it grounds the warmth instead of competing with it.

  4. These are starting points, not a menu — we pair to your room and your light. The point is simply that the door and the top get decided together, by people who will also fit them.

The details, for when you want them.

Construction & tops

What's actually under the finish.

Semi-custom, all-plywood, never flat-pack — paired with Cambria quartz. The boring facts that decide whether a Naples kitchen still feels right in year ten.

All-plywood boxNever flat-pack
  • Construction½–¾″ all-plywood boxes — never particle board or flat-pack.
  • DrawersDovetail boxes with soft-close glides everywhere, standard.
  • DoorsInset or full-overlay, hand-rubbed lacquer or oil finish.
  • SizingSemi-custom — built to your room, not stock 3″ increments.
  • InstallScribed in-place to your real walls and floor by our own crew.

A big-box flat-pack kitchen has a ~12-year lifespan in Naples — we've ripped out dozens. These are built to outlast that.

  • CareWipes clean — no annual re-seal like natural marble.

  • EdgesEased, bevel, or mitered to match the cabinet door line.

Quartz pairs with the cabinet finish in the same showroom review — you see the door chip and the slab together before the order is placed.

We carry premium semi-custom lines and pair them with Cambria quartz — we help you select, the maker builds it all-plywood to spec, and our crew scribes it in place. Naples humidity and salt air push every finish hard. The right kitchen is the one your Saturday morning is glad you picked.

Built for the Florida kitchen

Every cabinet we install is fit for Naples humidity — scribed to your house, not a blueprint.

Humidity swings, salt air, walls that aren't quite square. We have twenty-eight years of what works down here, one project manager start to finish, and our own crew on the install — a Houzz-recognized Naples shop.

Common questions · Cabinets

Honest answers.

  • Do you make the cabinets or order them?

We carry premium semi-custom lines — Fabuwood, UltraCraft, Omega, Mantra — all-plywood, never flat-pack particle board. We design and specify the kitchen, the manufacturer builds it to spec, and our own crew installs and scribes it in-place. We don't sub out the install.

  • What species do you recommend for Florida baths?

Quarter-sawn oak or walnut with a hand-rubbed lacquer. Paint-grade maple or poplar works if the palette calls for it. We avoid MDF for anything within 4 feet of a shower — salt air wicks into it.

  • How long does a kitchen take?

Design 2–3 weeks. Order + build 10–12 weeks at the manufacturer. Install 2 weeks. Total: roughly 14–16 weeks from signed scope to functional kitchen. We stage the install so you're only a few days without a sink.

  • Can you match cabinets to my hardwood floor?

That's our favorite reason to do both. Floor species, board direction, and cabinet finish get specified in one review. We pull door samples and finish chips so you see them together before the order is placed.

  • Do you do refacing?

Rarely, and only when the original box is furniture-grade. Most refacing is money spent on boxes that will fail before the doors do. We'll tell you honestly at the visit whether refacing or rebuild is the right call.

  • What's the warranty?

Manufacturer warranty on the boxes, doors, and drawers, plus our own workmanship warranty on the install. Five years on hardware. One free site visit at year three to tighten anything that's settled. We keep your specs on file permanently.
